Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the monthly Camsoft CRM Solutions newsletter
From a data privacy and security perspective POPIA is big news and its worth remembering that the act comes into full effect on the 1 July and that it affects everyone regardless of how big or small your business is. The main aim of the act is to ensure that our data is respected and not abused in any way. It is a complicated bit of legislation and is open to many interpretations which may seem daunting to the non-legal minded of us. To this end we have created a frequently asked questions section on our web site as well as a download. To access this please click here.
Maximizer News
Maximizer CRM have just released their latest upgrade, Maximizer 2021. With great enhancements across all the functions. For example, when you are working on a sales opportunity, you need to know the history about the client and review the recent communications. In previous version, you needed to switch from Opportunities to Address Book to view the notes. Now you can review and edit the Address Book entry notes directly in Opportunities.
The upgrade also includes GeoCoding. What does that mean? If you would like to ensure that the addresses you enter are correct and consistent, the new address suggestion feature will help you. A search field will be available in each address section in an Address Book entry. While you are typing in the search field, the suggestions from Google will appear. Selecting an address from the suggestions, the address fields will be populated accordingly. Ensuring accurate location of customers, a great feature as so many of us use Google maps for navigation. The release overview is available here.

Boating World Sailing into Business Success with Maximizer CRM
Derrick takes us back to the early days “It’s hard to believe we have been in business for 20 years. In the early days we used a T-card planning system to track our customers and sales – that sounds so dated now but was in effect our physical database. However, with business growing rapidly, we recognised this was not going to remain a practical solution.
Thankfully, on a visit to the London Boat Show 18 years ago, I spotted an advert for Maximizer CRM in a magazine I was reading. We checked the solution out on our return to South Africa, quickly made a decision and purchased the CRM from Maximizer’s South African Certified Solutions Provider, Camsoft and we haven’t looked back since.”
“Looking back on those early years, I would say we only used about 10% of Maximizer’s functionality – mainly as a contact database, which I believe is not uncommon with this kind of software.”
We were aware our CRM could provide additional value to the organization, but we just didn’t do the training or take the time to implement what we knew. I’m pleased to say we have completely changed that scenario around and now use about 80% of Maximizer’s functionality. This has significantly helped us make big improvements in different areas of the business.”
